We are able to offer traditional upholstery services which includes hand springing seats backs and arms using double cone coil springs on black and white webbing / English webbing or jute webbing.
We hand tie cane to sprung edges using methods that have been proven over hundreds of years. Hand stitching rolls with horse hair or ginger fibre using 10oz and 12oz hessian. We also carry out frame repairs where necessary and minor French polishing to legs and facings.
We do also have a contact locally for larger polishing jobs. Antique pieces can be finished with hand-sewn slip stitched outsides and hand tacked hessian bottom cloth.
We always enjoy finishing furniture with individual hand hammered domed upholstery nails (studs). We hand cut and make up buttons which can involve doubling up fabrics where they are thinner or skiving down leather hides to the correct thickness to fit the button moulds.
